Kate Tunley graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2000 and, after a period in mixed animal practice in Norfolk, completed a rotating small animal internship at the RVC.
Following this, she worked predominantly in first opinion small animal hospitals in the south-east. During this time, she completed general practitioner certificates in small animal surgery, small animal medicine, and practice management and administration.
Having left her most recent role as head vet of a large first opinion hospital, in January this year Kate set up an independent practice, Mulberry House Vets in Berkshire, with three colleagues.
She enjoys the challenges and variety of first opinion work, and thrives on the development of client relationships and patient trust essential to this.
Kate Tunley, in the final part of this article – part one having been written by Gerard McLaughlan (VT48.37) – recounts case presentations where such techniques were used.
