Jeff French
Jeff French PhD, MBA, MSc, Dip HE, BA, Cert Ed, is a global leader in behaviour programme design and social marketing. He is a visiting professor at Brighton University, a Fellow at Kings College University London, and teaches at five other universities as well as consulting and speaking at international conferences around the world.
As Director of Communication and Policy at the UK Government Health Development Agency, Jeff undertook a national review of social marketing and was CEO at the National Social Marketing Centre.
He continues to advise a number of national and international policy committees, sits on several editorial boards for social marketing journals and is the author of more than 90 chapters, articles and books – including three textbooks on social marketing – as well as the first technical guide to social marketing to be set out by the EU European Centre for Disease Control.
Thomas Webb
Thomas Webb is a professor in psychology at the University of Sheffield, where he teaches and pursues research on self-regulation – how people control their thoughts, feelings, and behaviour in order to achieve their goals.
For example, how do people help their dog to lose weight and stay healthy? He has published more than 100 papers on topics such as motivation, planning, self-monitoring, and emotions.
Hugues du Plessis
After a MSc degree in Integrative Biology and Physiology, Hugues started his career working on childhood obesity prevention and supported the worldwide development of community-based programmes promoting healthy lifestyles with the EPODE model. He successfully coordinated a three-year EU project co-funded by the DG Santé looking at the promotion of health equity.
Hugues has co-authored several publications on these topics and is now working for Purina to help the development of pet obesity prevention programmes. He is a strong believer in connecting research and practice to provide value and enrich existing local actions and programmes aimed at preventing obesity in a sustainable way.
Libby Sheridan
Libby graduated from Dublin vet school and after 10 years working in mixed and small animal practice, she entered industry working in pet nutrition. She then set up and ran her own company Mojo Consultancy, specialising in technical communications, PR and project management, before joining Purina Petcare in 2018 as Scientific Affairs Manager for the UK & Ireland.
Libby has built on her direct practice experience of client relationships with the development of professional and client support programmes, technical training programmes and roles in managing customer and consumer support teams.
